LONDON — There are only 227 days until Eurovision 2016 — are you ready to win it for the UK?
The BBC is launching its biggest Eurovision song search ever in an effort to reverse the UK’s abysmal record, inviting anyone over 18 to submit a song and introducing a public vote as part of the selection process.
The final of the annual celebration of trippy performances, geopolitical intrigue and glitter will be held in Stockholm on May 14, 2016.
Last year’s UK entry, Electro Velvet’s weird jazz pastiche “Still In Love With You,” finished a miserable 24th out of 27 entries in the final — the latest in a long string of failures since 1997′s win by Katrina and the Waves. Read more…
